Benefice Charitable Giving
The 2 churches of Street support the following organisations with our church tithe money:
Mfuwe Parish in Zambia (our link Church) - £1,200 a the year.
Of the remaining tithe amount, at the end of the year it will be split 4 ways equally between:
Mission Aviation Fellowship
MAF is a Christian mission organisation that uses planes to bring help, hope and healing to isolated people in need around the world.
Tearfund currently works in around 50 countries, with a primary focus on supporting those in poverty and providing disaster relief for disadvantaged communities
THE FATHER’S CHILDREN MINISTRIES is a UK registered charity which works in local communities in Uganda, in three locations all within 35 miles of the capital city, Kampala.
A ROCHA is an international Christian organization involved with caring for God’s creation and all living things.
In addition to this, throughout the year there are fundraising events and activities organised by members of the church with proceeds donated to organisations such as St. Margaret’s Hospice.
We have a Missions/World Focus prayer meeting on the 1st Wednesday of each month, from 7.30am to 8am in the Mission Church – please join us if you can.
The Missions and Charities committee consists of Suzie Williams and Jane Tompsett.
Holy Trinity, Walton
Holy Trinity, Walton supports the following individuals and organisations with our church tithe money:
One Hope Farm, Zimbabwe
One Church runs a number of projects to reach out to the poor and needy. These are called ONE HOPE INITIATIVES.
One Hope Farm is one such initiative.The aim is to train people not only in farming skills, but in character, so that as true disciples of Jesus, they can provide for themselves and their families and ultimately be a blessing to their communities.
The Bible Society
Working in over 200 countries, Bible Society is a charity on a global mission to bring the Bible to life for every man, woman and child.
The SU works in over 120 countries sharing the gospel and encouraging people of all ages to come to a personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer and to grow in Christian maturity.
Open Doors is a ministry to persecuted Christians and churches worldwide. They supply Bibles, provide training and lead community development projects.
New Wine Nation Changer
This campaign aims to empower local churches to respond to the needs in their communities through the ministry of God’s word, the power of his Spirit and supported by a countrywide network that is seeking God to change the nation.
St. Andrew's, Compton Dundon
St Andrew's makes a determined and generous effort to support a wide range of local, national, international and Diocesan charitable causes. Our many fundraising ventures, along with donations made at specific services such as "Pets and Parachutes" and Mothering Sunday, enable us to be flexible and proactive in our giving. Specifically, we aim to support young people and those afflicted by famine and poverty.
