Baptisms and Thanksgivings
Jesus said "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" Matthew 19.14
If you are considering marking the arrival of a child to your family with a Baptism or Thanksgiving service, we would love to talk to you.
At a Baptism of a child (sometimes also called a Christening) we come together to welcome them into the family of God. Parents, godparents and indeed the whole church promise to support and nurture the child in this journey of faith and we mark the occasion by baptising with water around the font.
For some, a thanksgiving service, the chance to give thanks to God for the gift of a child may be more appropriate if you decide that now isn’t the right time to have your child baptised.

We also welcome enquiries from older children or adults exploring Baptism.
Normally, it has been our practice to offer baptism and thanksgiving during our Sunday services, however, due to the current Covid19 restrictions, they currently take place on Sunday afternoons at 2pm. Whilst there are other restrictions on numbers attending etc we hope you will still be able to celebrate with us.
